Staying Systemic Series
Integrating Attachment ideas with Systemic Therapy and Family Therapy: what's added and stirred up.
Outline
When attachment ideas are introduced to systemic therapy, the therapit's attention is drawn to understanding and evoking accounts of intergenerational attachment histories and linking these with current parent/ child relationships or adult couple relationships.
This focus , then, steers the therapist to assess and repair "relational ruptures" in a delberate and purposeful way.
This seminar is interested in using a case to generate discussion on :
- The effect of attachment ideas on systemic practice and on the systemic therapist
- How does the more modernist attachment perspective sit with systemic ideas of therapist curiousity and with the " know slowly" stance arising from the more social constructivist approaches?
