Accredited 2 year post graduate course in contemporary systemic and family therapy, Perth, Western Australia.
A popular program run since 2004, accredited by the Australian Association of Family Therapy and endorsed as a CPD event by the Australian Association of Social Workers. This course provides in depth knowledge of the theories and skills that prepare clinicians for working systemically with their clients. It is designed for professionals with undergraduate qualifications in the health or social sciences and who are currently involved in clinical counselling practice.
The course content selects the key elements from early family therapy approaches to current ones and subsumes them under a social constructionist umbrella.
Each terms includes a learning objective, reading, skills practice, and involvement with the Centres low fee clinic. The training group is kept small (maximum of 10 trainees) to maximize learning in the Low Fee Clinic.
