"Let the client’s context inform practice: A Case Study "

Family Therapy and Systemic Therapy today increasingly show a theory and model flexibility or irreverence as Cecchin et. al. (1993) put it, which can integrate traditional modernist influences with postmodern and dialogic practice and ideas. The findings from the research on the common factors of change have also encouraged this evolution. These developments allow family therapists to integrate theory and practice techniques from a variety of approaches and to therefore draw upon what they most need to help clients in differ ent practice contexts.

This presentation will look at the process of integrating models and their techniques through a case study.

This talk was presented at a WA Family Therapy Association meeting in March 2016.
